By submitting an entry, you automatically agree to our Contest Rules and Regulations.

 

Submission Guidelines:

  • Contest is open to all students in the U.S. in grades 3-6.
  • Entry must be based on a real interview with a real person.
  • Entry must be the original work written by the student.
  • Entries must be typed and double-spaced or hand-written in dark ink on lined paper.
  • All entries must be submitted on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. Electronic (e-mail) submissions are also accepted.
  • Maximum length of 500 words.
  • Limit one entry per student.

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

All national winners will receive a $100 check from Kid Scoop Foundation. Winners may not substitute or transfer prizes. All taxes, fees, and/or costs incurred in winning or to claim the prize and any other expenses not specified are the sole responsibility of the winner. In the event this contest is terminated before all prizes are awarded, or if any prize is forfeited or unclaimed, Kid Scoop Foundation will select from the remaining eligible entries an alternate winner for all remaining prizes.

Interview with national or international "Healthy Hero" is based solely on the availability of the interviewee and the ability of Kid Scoop Foundation to procure the interviewee. Any incidental or travel costs associated with this interview are the sole responsibility of the winner.

 

Publication:

The winning entries will be published in the national edition of Kid Scoop (print and online) as well as, to the extent that such publication is reasonably practicable, in a local newspaper distributed in the geographical area in which the winner resides.

 

Submission Waiver:

All submissions will become the sole property of Kid Scoop and may be used in the organization's future marketing materials. All entrants grant, and will grant, Kid Scoop the right to use their names, pictures, and essays in any advertising and promotion without further compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law. Participants warrant that their entry is their original work and that Kid Scoop's use of the entry will not infringe upon or violate the rights of any third party, and grant Kid Scoop the right to edit, publish, promote, and otherwise use their entry materials without further permission, notice, and/or compensation. By entering, entrants agree to abide by the above stated rules.

 

Contest is void where prohibited by law.
